Gemini Genealogy was founded by Rachael Mellen, M.A. She was born and educated in England, receiving her bachelor's degree in history and education from the University of London in 1974. Rachael had the distinct privilege of being presented with her degree by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who was Chancellor of the University at that time. The ceremony took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Rachael was awarded an M.A. in Humanities from the California State University Dominguez Hills in 2008.
She has over
thirty years of experience in genealogical research and has
written two books, "The Practical Guide for the Genealogist
in England" (1986) and "The Handy Book to English Genealogy" (1987 and
1990). Both were published by Heritage Books of Maryland.
Rachael has given presentation on English and Irish genealogy and related topics to many genealogical societies and libraries, including the Chicago Branch of the National Archives. She has also taught classes on American genealogical research.
